HANDCRAFTED MODULAR HOMES KNOWS THE TRUE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

Each year, the employees at HandCrafted Homes in Henderson, NC, collect canned foods, money and/or toys for half-dozen or so employees that are truly struggling to make their families’ Christmases Merry. Requests are made of all employees for their children’s clothes sizes, ages and sex so that appropriate gifts can be purchased for the families selected.

Handcrafted also purchases McDonald’s gift cards for all the children of their employees, then mail them to the children with a note to let them know how much they appreciate the work their parent does for Handcrafted and thanking them for sharing their parent with them.

HandCrafted Homes was interviewed and published in E-The Environmental Magazine, this July/August issue, for energy efficient, and environmentally sound alternative to traditional building. Our General Manager stated that our company in North Carolina sells mostly to empty nesters between the age of 50 to 60 years old as primary residences or vacation homes. I have to say that although this is true, just today on our HandCrafted Homes Face Book page, a young man posted to us that he's liking his electric bills of around $115.00 per month due to our energy efficient built home that he bought from one of our approved HandCrafted Home builders. So that said, we build home for every age group, with or without families. Prefab houses are as varied as the people who purchase them: There are round homes, Georgian homes, log homes, conventional homes and detached studios. But they all have one thing in common—most prefab homes are an energy-efficient and environmentally sound alternative to traditional homes. In prefab factories, excess wood is used for other projects. “In ‘stick building,’ [traditional on-site building] material is wasted and tossed into a dumpster,” says Tony Gacek, executive director of the Building Systems Councils of the National Association of Home Builders. Prefab homes also tend to be more efficient and better insulated post-construction and often feature Energy Star-rated appliances.

New Meets Old

Most of the people buying modular homes (with rooms fully built) from Handcrafted Homes (handcrafted
